Musette - R.S.V.P Ceilidh Band

The musette dates back to 17th and 18th century France and unlike scottish bagpipes it has a single drone with a chanter. The chanter has a double reed and the drone has a single reed, Sarahs' are 'G' pipes made by Remy Dubois of Belgium. This is a popular instrument in Central France and a traditional accompaniment to the Hurdy-Gurdy and the Bombarde ( a type of shawm and possibly the loudest instrument that has ever existed). Sarah also plays the Gaita which has added a new dimension to the music and has also widened the bands repetoire to include Spanish tunes. The pipes were made by Anton Varela in Galicia, NW Spain.
